Fusion images are not supported by other applications such as PowerViewer, MPR, and 3D.

When the Display Option includes a Fusion series, the Fusion series will appear automatically in the relevant window/s.

Fusion image are not shown in the PMA.

You cannot apply a three-dimensional rendition on a fusion image.

You can export a fusion image or the entire fusion group.

You can use Swap to select assign a dataset as primary or secondary. To swap between Primary and Secondary studies:

• Right-click the Opacity annotation, then select Swap Data.

• Right-click the Replace With annotation, then select Swap Data.

1. Right-click on the Opacity annotation.

2. Select the opacity from the drop-down menu.

Or

1. Left-click and drag upwards to increase opacity.

2. Left-click and drag downwards to decrease opacity.

You can also use the shortcut ALT+Shift+O to toggle the opacity between 0%, 50% and 100%.

By default, the superimposed PET and CT datasets are based on a 50%-50% ratio of linear blending (Alpha Blending).

Two types of blending create the fused image:

• Alpha Blending—the linear merging of the two datasets is determined only by the blending ratio.   

• Highlighted— the two datasets will not be merged evenly (non-linear).

1. Right-click the Blending annotation.

2. Select one of the pre-defined values of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.

You can film fusion images.

However, when you place the fusion images in the Film Preview, you cannot manipulate the images.

You can perform Zoom, apply the Magnifying Glass, and apply Measurements for length and area only.

You can mark fusion images as Key Images or as Significant Series.

All the image parameters are captured just as they were displayed when the image was saved as Key or SIG. The parameters include Windowing, Alpha blending ratio, and the Color Pallet.

Once saved, the fusion image becomes a static RGB image.
