The SUV calculation depends on variable patient data which can change from study to study. This data includes the height, weight, and gender of the patient, as well as the amount of radiotracer injected into the patient.
In addition, the SUV calculation properties displays Decay Correction, an alternative uptake time calculation method. When Decay Correction = Start, the uptake time displays the difference between injection time and start time.
When Decay Correction = Admin, the uptake time parameter displays the difference between injection time and scan time. The system behavior depends on a new configuration flag (show_uptake_time_as_injection_to_scan_time_diff_for_decay_admin):
When set to 0, the uptake time displays 0.
When set to 1, the uptake time displays the difference as with Decay Correction = Start, but the SUV calculation assumes a zero uptake time, as images were decay corrected to the injection time. Therefore, no additional factor is needed.
You can adjust the patient data in the PET/CT application.
1. Right-click the dynamic annotation at the bottom of the corner. The default annotation text is SUV-BW.
2. Select Edit SUV Data.
3. In the SUV Calculation Properties window, adjust any of the following data fields:
Injection Time
Patient Weight
Patient Height
Injected Dose
Gender
4. Click OK.
NOTE: The data values are shown in both metric and imperial values, and converted automatically. For example, when you enter data in metric values and click OK, the metric data is saved and simultaneously converted in the imperial fields.
