You can load DICOM images from any directory on your computer.
1. Right-click on the Local Drive option in the Archive List, then click Browse.
2. From the Browse window, select the directory that contains the DICOM DIR file.
Important: A remote connection is a requirement to load images transferred to a local computer.
You can initiate a transfer of studies to a local disk even if you are not using a remote connection, but you can only load images from the local disk if you use a remote connection.
1. Right-click on the Local Drive Option in the Archive List, then click Browse.
2. From the Browse window, select the directory that contains the transferred folder.
When you load studies pushed to your local disk, the loading process will behave as though the images are streamed. For example the image information is taken from the server database for the most current information. The image pixel data is taken from the local disk (lossless). However, if new images are created after the transfer, they will streamed as well.
If you load a study that is still transferring to your local disk, the remaining images/series are streamed.
If you load a study that was transferred to your computer, but the same study is available online and you are not in a remote location, the study is loaded from the fast online server instead of the local disk.
