Monitor Configuration

A different layout can be set for each different hardware configuration. For example, the same display protocol can be set up to be displayed differently on two bank and four bank systems.

NOTE: This option is only available in standalone mode. When you open the Display Protocol Editor from the Viewer, only the active monitor configuration can be modified.

The monitor configuration field is disabled unless you work in standalone mode. To access standalone mode, enter from outside the application. In standalone mode, you can configure the number of monitors connected to your system. When defining the desired layout, you must specify the number of monitors to which it applies by selecting the number of monitors from the Monitor Configuration drop-down menu.

The number refers to the number of monitors on which the Viewer runs. +1 indicates a multiple desktop. For example, 2+1 refers to a multiple-desktop configuration in which the viewer is spread on two black and white monitors and one color monitor. The color monitor serves two purposes: it displays the Archive Explorer; after the study is loaded, the monitor becomes part of the viewer.

NOTE: Once a layout is defined for a specific number of monitors, it only applies to that specific configuration. It is highly recommended that you create a layout for each hardware configuration that is available on your site.
