Each group is made up of a series of images. Each series may contain images from a different location or a different size area of the patient's body. When you view two groups, there may be a partial overlap between the groups, and they can be linked.
However, after the groups are linked and synchronized, a location in one group might not have a match in the second group (for example, one group contains only upper body images and the other group contains images of the whole body).
If you are in a linked group and you scroll out of the range of images in the second group, the second group display is either empty (black image) or the best-match-slice (closest) image, unless it is more than x cm from the selected location in the body (x is defined in the system configuration). The link annotation in the lower left corner of the group display changes from Link to Off Spacing. If several groups are linked together, more than one group may be Off Spacing at any particular time.
NOTE: For instructions on how to define whether an empty image or the best-match-slice image is displayed, see the system administrator. The default is to display the best-match-slice image.
While you scroll in a linked group, the system searches for a matching image in the group that is out of range. The closest/empty image will be shown until you return to a location that has a match.
