Working with Volumes of Interest

The Volume of Interest (VOI) option lets you remove unnecessary areas of a volume to get a clearer view of pathology.

To:

Do this:

Create a VOI

1.  Click Define Volume of Interest and select an option from the VOI Tools list.

2.  Click the left mouse button and draw the VOI.

Draw a plus VOI

The plus VOI lets you define a region of the volume you want to keep and discards the rest of the volume.

1.  Click Define Volume of Interest and select a shape
(Free , Oval , Rectangle ).

2.  Click the mouse and draw the shape.

3.  When you are finished drawing, double-click to discard the volume outside the shape.

Draw a minus VOI

The minus VOI lets you draw a shape on the image and then remove the shape from the image.

1.  Click Define Volume of Interest and select a shape
(Free , Oval , Rectangle ).

2.  Click the mouse and draw the shape.

3.  When you are finished drawing, double-click to discard the volume inside the shape.

Undo the last VOI

  • Click Define Volume of Interest and select Undo Last VOI.

Redo the last VOI

  • Click Define Volume of Interest and select Redo Last VOI.

Reset the MIP image

  • Click Define Volume of Interest and select Reset VOI.

Save the defined VOI

  • Click Define Volume of Interest and select Save VOI.

NOTE: The image saved will be added to the Patient Mini-Archive and saved to disk when the Vue PACS Client is closed.
