Building and Applying Tissues

Once you have created a tissue by using the various tissue definition tools, you can apply the tissue on the MIP or Volume Rendered image. You can add or remove a specific tissue from the tissue. When you build a tissue, it is possible you will add or remove structures many times until you achieve the results you want.

Removing and Adding a Tissue

When you remove a tissue, the blue pixels defined on the MPR reference images are removed from the MIP or Volume Rendered image. For example, use this process to remove bone structures.

NOTE: You must determine if the type of tissue you are going to define will be added or removed.

Remove a tissue

  • From the Tissue tab of the toolbar, click Remove .

Add a tissue

When you add a tissue , the blue pixels defined on the MPR reference images are added to the MIP or Volume Rendered image. When you define the first tissue, selecting "add” keeps the tissue while removing the rest of the MIP image. For example, use this process to define and keep tissues of blood vessels.

Accepting, Dismissing, and Saving a Tissue

To save a tissue, you must accept it. When you accept a tissue, the tissue definition process is complete.

Accept a tissue

  • From the Tissue tab of the toolbar, click Accept .

The tissue is saved in the Patient Mini-Archive, but is not permanently saved until the end of the session.

Dismiss a tissue

  • From the Tissue tab of the toolbar, click Cancel .

Save a tissue

  • At the end of the session, click Done to save the tissue for future reference.

Applying Tissues

You can define several tissues and apply them separately or together on the MIP image.
