• Strong computer—PC with 4 Cores and above, such as INTEL CORE 2 Quad, 2x INTEL CORE Duo , or 2x INTEL CORE 2 Quad).

• Low power computer—any PENTIUM 4 based PC.  

• Medium power computer—any INTEL CORE DUO PC with two cores only.

 

The Vue PACS Client Suite software supports two slow rendition modes:

• Standard Slow—default setting.

• Best Slow—superior rendition (compared to Standard Slow).

When you are working in a viewing application that supports VolR images, the default setting is Standard Slow.

Criteria	Rendition Type (Applied Automatically by the Software)
Strong computer. The level of performance for the Best Slow rendition is similar to the average performance for the Standard Slow rendition.	Best Slow
Medium / low power computer. The level of performance for the Best Slow rendition is significantly different than the average performance for the Standard Slow rendition.	Standard Slow

You can control system behavior during reading sessions using the Toggle VolR Quality mode.

Important: Toggle VolR Quality is available only for strong or medium power computers.

Example

You have a medium power computer. The Toggle VolR Quality mode is off by default. When you activate Toggle VolR Quality mode, the VolR images are rendered based on the Best Slow rendition. While the Toggle VolR Quality mode is active, all the VolR images in slow scenarios are rendered based on Best Slow rendition.

1. Manipulate the VolR image as needed.

2. Click the Toggle VolR Quality icon to activate the mode.

When activated, the computer renders all VolR images in the slow rendition scenario with Best Slow rendition.

3. Click the Toggle VolR Quality icon again to deactivate the mode.

When inactive, the computer renders all VolR images in the in slow rendition scenario with Standard Slow rendition.

The Vue PACS Client Suite software supports four fast rendition quality modes. The fast rendition modes are appropriate for scenarios in which you constantly manipulate VolR images. The fast rendition modes balance the image quality with computer performance.

The four fast rendition modes are:

• Standard Slow

• Standard Fast

• Standard Fast of every second image

• Standard Fast of every fourth image

The Vue PACS Client Suite software system applies the rendition type  automatically. The system selects the rendition mode that will support the best quality within defined performance restrictions. The restrictions include the maximum time required to draw a single frame (frame-per-second parameter), the complexity of the images, the size of the display area, and the amount of magnification.

NOTE: Each rendition task is different. The system selects the most appropriate fast rendition mode is selected for each rendition task, rather than for volume, viewing application, or reading session.
