Marking SIG Images Manually

You can use the PowerViewer or the Archive Explorer to manually mark images as part of a Significant Series (SIG).

  • Extract one important group from several groups in a study (Mark Entire Group).

  • Mark first and last image of the volume you want (Mark Slab by Borders).

  • Choose the middle slice and use dialog box to determine the thickness in millimeters or total number of images (Mark Slab by Center).

Important: PowerViewer does not support clearing SIG markers from images.

  • Extract one important group from several groups in a study (Mark Entire Group).

  • Clear the SIG marker from a series.

Important: The Archive Explorer does not support specific marking options for slabs.

Important: If you do not have permission to mark SIG images, Mark as Significant Series is inactive. See the system administrator.

In Archive Explorer, marking SIG images is based on DICOM tags rather than on pixel data.

1. Open the Archive Explorer.

2. Click the desired study.

3. Select one or more series from the list.

4. From the menu toolbar, click Archive Explorer --> Explore --> Mark as Significant Series.

5. Locate the study with the SIG marker.
