Marking a Slab by Borders

You can mark two images within the same group to create a "border." The SIG contains the border images, plus the range of images between the first and last image.

Important: Mark Slab by Borders is unavailable for non-volumetric data, such as CR, DR, XR, MG, US or in localizer images.

From PowerViewer

From MPR (Application or Rendition)

1. In the main menu, click File --> Mark Significant Series --> Mark Slab by Borders.

2. The cursor changes to a square.

1. Change to an MPR Rendition or use the MPR viewbox application.

2. Initiate Export Series:

  • In the main menu, click File --> Export Series.

Or

  • Right-click the image. From the drop-down menu, select Export Series --> Mark Slab by Borders.

NOTE: The following steps apply to either the PowerViewer or MPR.

3. Click the image you want to define as a border and include as the first image in the range of images.

4. Scroll through the images and click the image you to define as a border and include as the final image in the range.

5. The Export a Series window opens.

6. Under Export Purpose, choose Create Significant Series.

7. Under Export Parameters, select Slab sub volume (mm), and enter an integer between 2 and 1000.

8. Under Export Parameters, adjust the values for:

  • Number of images

  • Spacing (mm)

  • Thickness (mm)

9. In the Series Description field, input a brief and meaningful title for the series.

10. Optional: If desired, select High Resolution.

Important: Selecting High Resolution will increase the file size of the SIG images.

Important: Finish the marking process before you apply annotations or measurements, or manipulate the image. If you change the cursor mode before you mark the final image, you will cancel the marking process prematurely.
