Important: Do not apply Manual Registration to studies containing non-volumetric datasets. The registration algorithm is designed for use on volumetric datasets only. For more information about volume rendered images, see Using Volume Rendering.
Manual Registration is appropriate to use when the registration results from Register Studies or Guided Registration are unsatisfactory.
Important: You must manually enter the relevant input. The quality of the results depends on the accuracy of the input. If you vary the input, the registration results will also vary.
You must manually match the studies by adjusting the following input:
Orientation/planar view—display each study using same orientation.
Registration points—each registration point must be placed in the same location in each study. The exact clicking point is less important, but the general location must be the same.
When you use Manual Registration, the series/groups/datasets cannot scroll or swivel automatically. You must perform the matching process before you click Manual Registration.
1. Display two or more studies containing volumetric datasets.
2. Manually scroll and swivel each study to present the same orientation in each study.
4. Click Register Studies to view the drop-down menu.
5. Click Manual Register Studies . The cursor changes to Manual Registration mode.
6. Click once on each study in the same general location of each study.
NOTE: When you click on the same general location in each study, you create a registration point. The registration points are factored into the registration algorithm, and allow Manual Registration to match the volumes and map the relevant pixels in each study.
